NEW YORK, NY
Nestled in the center of one of the most historical districts of Manhattan, SoHo Holds some of the most prestigious studios and lofts in the world. In a place enveloped by fashion, art and architecture, a unique design opportunity is presented. Selecting a unique chient, and pairing them with a designed program and purpose, can create an place that is both unique and benecifial to the district.
We chose an alternative lifestyle of urban nomads, people who devote their life to travel and short-term living experiences. While the reasoning behind the decisions to become nomadic vary, one thing holds true, this specific client is doing something for the greater good.
Our alternative housing project combined a short-term living option, and a cultural employment opportunity. The trade skill of wine making is taught and carried out by the residents, providing a place of work and housing in one location. The Urban Winery celebrates New York’s rich wine production, while paying homage to the creative arts and culture of the area.
Unknown to many, New York is one of the United States highest wine producers. Wine is a cultural staple in todays social society. Regarded to many as a luxury, wine has the opportunity to be paired with architecture. Good+Will combines residence and retail in a unique way.
