The StatioN HOTEL

SEATTLE, WA

In the Shadow of the Seattle Seahawks’ CenturyLink Field, The Station Hotel lies at the crossroads of four distinct Seattle neighborhoods. To the south lies the Stadium and Industrial district and to the north lies the international District and historic Pioneer Square. Adjacent to the site is King Street Station, a station serving over a million riders per year.

Our goal was to design a highrise hotel, that would serve all of these neighborhoods in a positive way, as well as creating  an “image” for the City of Seattle. With strict program limits, such as a 16,000 sq. ft. column free event space, and  compact site restrictions, it was through structural and program analysis to come to an effective solution. By raising much of the program off street level, public circulation was maintained, creating a central point of these neighborhood crossroads.
